The Washington Seniors Wellness Center (WSWC) was established in May 1985. WSWC is a health promotion partnership between the District of Columbia ‘s Department of Aging and Community Living (DACL) and the East River Family Strengthening Collaborative, Inc. (ERFSC). Perspective members are District of Columbia residents and 60 years of age. ERFSC is a diverse organization with programs for every senior regardless of race, sexual orientation, or any conditions providing special attention.

 

WSWC helps seniors thrive through health and nutrition education and fitness.  You will experience:

  • Safe Exercise (Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, Strength and Toning, Line Dancing, Tennis, Bowling, Enhance Fitness, to name a few)
  • Health Dialogues
  • Medication Management Discussions
  • Disease Prevention Education
  • Nutrition Education and Planning
  • Presentations and Tips on Relevant Topics for Seniors
  • Social Activities (Local area trips, Birthday Parties, Games, Card Playing)
  • Diverse classes – Painting, Spanish, Smart Technology, Sewing, Chess, Active Living Every Day

ERFSC contracts with the Far Southeast Family Strengthening Collaborative to provide Wellness Services to seniors living in Ward 8. Prospective Members must be DC residents and 60 years and older.
